Aims and scope Tanzanian Journal of Nursing (TJN) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal covering nursing research, issues in nursing practice and nursing education in Tanzania. We primarily seek to promote the development and dissemination of knowledge in all areas of nursing, nursing education and health care in Tanzania.
TJN also aims to promote academic debate on the art and science of nursing. TJN aims to attract a wide readership from experienced nurses, educators, researchers, student nurses, nursing leaders and other health professionals. We promote inter-professional working and invite contributions from other health professionals on issues that directly impact on nursing practice, education, research or patient care.
TJN will publish high quality papers on issues related to nursing research, practice development, nursing role development and nursing education. In addition to normal issues which will usually contain a mixture of scholarly papers, TJN will publish themed issues on trends in nursing practice, nursing education, nursing research and clinical guidelines. Abstracts from professional conferences will also be published on a special supplement issue.
Types of articles
The journal will publish different types of articles ranging from primary research, systematic reviews, commentaries, protocols and case studies from nurses and other healthcare researchers or authors.
Audience
TJN is for health professionals working in clinical settings and the community, nurse educators and learners in the schools and faculties of nursing, researchers in health, individuals interested in health issues and nursing, policy makers and other health professionals and specialists in the health sector.
